Join us on Shrove Tuesday at St Richard's church to watch our Lent film, the award-winning 'The Theory of Everything', starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. All are welcome to join us at 7:30pm for pancakes, with the film starting at 8pm. If you're planning to join our Lent course, then viewing of the film is essential.
Ash Wednesday marks the first day of Lent. It is a day to remember our call as Christians to repentance. Ashes have been used as a sign of seeking forgiveness throughout history. As part of the service you will be invited to have an ash cross placed on your forehead as a reminder that it is from ash that we come and to ash that we will one day return.
On the first Sunday of every month at St Mary’s, we all meet together for around an hour. This means that our Children’s Church are in St Mary’s with everyone else for the whole service, rather than meeting together separately. This is a shorter communion service that aims to involve everyone, with a simpler message to help us think, an activity or two to help us engage and our normal singing and celebration of communion.
This years Lent Course ‘The Mystery of Everything’ is based on the award winning film ‘The Theory of Everything’. This will run weekly on Wednesdays at 7:30pm from the 8th of March at St Richard's church through Lent, and will help us to discover more about the mystery of our faith as we journey towards Easter. Speak to Jacque for more details & to sign up.

At this meeting we will also be voting and appointing members to out PCC, Deanery Synod and Church Wardens.
